The Turn of the Wheel

The wheel has turned again.

Another year has come and gone.

With it goes the old decade,

As a new one now dawns.

Looking back at the past;

The highs and lows that flew by me.

The stupid mistakes I made,

Things I didn’t foresee.

I started a bit lost,

Trying to find my way on through.

Now I’ve found many good friends:

All loyal, strong and true.

I’m a bit older,

A little more wiser, I think.

The past, present and future,

Now and forever linked.

Stepping into the dawn,

The light of a new decade.

I put my old life behind

Meeting the new, remade.

Happy New Year.

One decade ends, another now begins
The Turn of the Wheel
